A glittering career sometimes hides many a sad story beneath. Lolo Jones, winner of both USA championships and World Championships in hurdle events has reached her current position with a lot struggle as well as a lot of perseverance. Jones was the sole child in a family of five, and grew up in extreme poverty. Her mother was constantly moving around and even lived in the basement of a church for some length of time. Jones was required to relocate to a different school each year up until her high school years as a result of her nomadic life. Jones moved away from her mom to Theodore Roosevelt to enable her to focus on her interest in track. At the 2002 NCAA Track & Field Championship she took home the hurdles 100 meters. Also, she was a part of the winning team for the 100-meter relay. Jones was the winner of the NCAA Indoor Hurdles contest in the years 2003 and 2004. Jones completed her college education in 2005, started to work hard in track. She was the winner of two events, the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track events during the same season.

Brandt was raised and born in Cape Town in South African. She immigrated from Cape Town to Auckland New Zealand with her family in her late teens. Brandt's talent was discovered in Auckland through the local casting director Brandt. She took the part of Naevia as the Starz show Spartacus Blood and Sand and Spartacus Gods of the Arena. Working with producers Steven S. D Knight and Sam Raimi she captivated audiences through her performances and became one of the show's breakout actors. Mazikeen is a Vertigo/DC Comics role model who appeared on Netflix's hit program Lucifer. The show ran for 6 years. Forbes declared Lucifer the show with the highest amount of binge-watching of 2021. Brandt will next appear in the role of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira in the limited series of six episodes Walking Dead spin-off which airs in 2024. Also, she stars with Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan Chris Meloni and Chris Meloni as Captain Fall in an adult-oriented film which will premiere on Netflix the 20th of July in 2023. Lesley-Ann Brandt, a South African actress, born in Cape Town, South Africa on the 2nd of December 1981. She is a talented New Zealander performer. Lesley Brandt along with the rest of her family relocated to Auckland New Zealand, in 1999. After several years working in retail, she was promoted to the position of an IT consultant. Lesley's professional career started with handful of modeling projects. She then appeared in many commercial ads. She graduated in 2008 and completed her acting studies. In 2009, she began her acting studies, she continued training by using the Meisner approach to study. Lesley's debut prominent role on screen in New Zealand was as a TV actor in Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt has shown up in The New Zealand TV drama series Shortland Street with a role as a supporting character. In a later sci-fi arrangement This Is Not My Life she portrayed the city of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt was cast in the Television show Spartacus: Blood and Sand as Naevia who was a teenager hostage and later depicts in the Spartacus: Gods of the Arena mini-series.
