Meredith Salenger
Salenger was born and raised in Malibu, California. She was a performer for family and friends when she was an infant. She was taken by her mother to her first class in acting when she was just eight years old. Her first performance was as a 'singing and dancing orphan for the feature film Annie written by John Huston. Salenger performed a number of television commercials. Salenger was the first to appear as a character in The Journey of Natty Gann produced by Disney in which she was a film starring John Cusack alongside Ray Wise. This film won the Moscow Film Festival's gold award as the first US-made movie. Additionally, she was awarded "Best Female actress in a film" at the Youth in Film Awards in the recognition of her character as the fun-loving Natty. In her early 20s, she starred in another four movies, including A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon. Then she moved to Harvard in order to continue her education.
